Guess what the 2016 season has in store for Shelby Ebert Racing? If you’ve been following my social media, you know exactly what I’ve been up to! Yes, we are going Pro Modified Drag Boat Racing! I still can’t believe it’s real. We went to Phoenix in March for the season opener and after a long, hard weekend, I ended up getting my license on my 21st birthday! It was one of the best days of my life for sure. Since then, we have been to one other race in Parker, Arizona where we only got one round in on Sunday because of wind delays. The bright side about that was that I ended up getting my first round win! After that, we came home and my dad had surgery so we haven’t been to a race since April. That’s where the exciting stuff comes to play! We will be in Wheatland, Missouri next weekend (June 10-12) for my home race at Lucas Oil Speedway! This is definitely one of my favorite places to race for multiple reasons, but especially because my friends and family get to come to watch me race. I’m loving the new pro mod; there are definitely differences between the pro mod and my open boat that I’ve been driving for the past 4 years, but it is definitely exciting! I have a new career best speed at 186 mph going 6.67 seconds in 1/4 mile. It was definitely a blast! My team is ready to get back at it in Wheatland next weekend!
